October 1, 1999 - the first series was released, the first Northern Exposure DVD release worldwide! No extras included but includes all eight episodes from the first season. Region 2 DVDs (Europe, Japan, South Africa, and the Middle East including Egypt) are available on amazon.co.uk.

May 9 , 2005 - the second series was released. It contains all seven episodes. You can order it several places, including amazon.co.uk (a portion of your purchase helps support this web site, if you order it through that link). Simon from the UK reports that some of the music was replaced on the R2 UK release, but there is a label on the package informing consumers. (Thanks Simon!)

January 30, 2006 - the third series was released in the UK. It contains all twenty-three episodes and also is available on amazon.co.uk.

July 31, 2006 - the fouth series was released in the UK. It is available for order on amazon.co.uk.

January 22, 2007 - the fifth series was released in the UK. It is available for order on amazon.co.uk.

June 25 , 2007 - the sixth series was released in the UK. It is available for order on amazon.co.uk.

December 2017 - Northern Exposure (Ausgerechnet Alaska) set available in DVD and Blu-Ray (Standard definition) with ALL THE ORIGINAL MUSIC. It is in English (with German subtitles that you can adjust) and you will need a region-free DVD or Blu-ray player if you are elsewhere. Be sure to get the correct DVD or Blu-ray format (you can play DVDs and Blu-ray disks on a Blu-ray player, but you cannot play Blu-ray disks on a DVD player).

April 2004 - Northern Exposure (Ausgerechnet Alaska) was released in German. You can find it on amazon.de.

Update on the German Season 2 rumors: <<There is some really bad news for German NX fans. Some days ago the "CICELY NEWS & WORLD TELEGRAM", a German NX related newsletter, reported that Universal will not release season 2 of Northern Exposure within the near future. The sales figures of season 1 weren't as good as expected - especially in some of the other European countries. July 12, 2005 - The second season contains seven episodes on two disks. It does not have the parka packaging but does include the extra outtakes and deleted footage.
