SEATTLE - "Northern
Exposure" star Barry Corbin was in
satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center after he fell
off his horse and broke his left leg and left foot Friday near his
home in Arlington, Snohomish County.
Nursing supervisor
Mary Pilgrim said surgery would be required.
Corbin plays
retired astronaut Maurice Minnifield on the television show, which
is filmed in Roslyn and Redmond. He has a home in Arlington.

His accident opened the door for Moultrie Patten's character, Walt.
In 5.16 Hello I Love You, originally Maurice
was supposed to go to Cantwell with Ruth-Anne. Since Barry was unable
to film, the stroyline of Walt courting Ruth-Anne was written in.
Maurice then appears later on crutches in 5.19
